BMC Racing Team: Most Aggressive Team of the 2008 Tour of California!

Today’s march from Santa Clarita to Pasadena closed the book on the 2008 Amgen Tour of California. The BMC racing team brought to the race a group with a potent mix of experienced professionals and young up and comers. The team far exceeded any moderate pre-race goals. This fact was confirmed when the race organizers lauded the team as being the Most Aggressive Team of the entire tour. Add to that the other accomplishments, and it is not hard to understand why Gavin Chilcott and John Lelangue glowed after the finish of the race. “We are very honoured that the organization decided to recognize the team as a whole,” Gavin Chilcott said after the end of the stage. “This is not a standard award, but has been offered to us in response to a message from the media regarding our team’s performance over the past week.

Sam Blenkinsop one of the youngest riders to hit the World Cup circuit, is bringing fresh downhill talent from down under to the Yeti / Fox Shox Factory Team in a two-year signed deal. It was back in 2005 that Blenkinsop emerged in the foreground of downhill racing at the World Championships in Italy, where the skill and riding style of the 16-year old stood out on the challenging Livigno course. His solid top ten in the junior category was an early indication of the raw talent Blenkinsop has brought to the circuit.

.:UCI Worldcup 4 - Schladming, Austria

 

7/08/2007 - DT Swiss sponsored athlete Sam Hill of Iron Horse/ Monster Energy won for the second consecutive Worldcup Downhill race while Steve Peat of the Santa Cruz Syndicate also podiums in the 5th spot.

6/24/07 - DT Swiss athletes are all over the podium at Mt Saint Anne in Canada as Sam Hill and Sabrina Jonnier of Iron Horse/ Monster Energy take the Men and Women's titles in the Downhill.  Steve Peat and Nathan Rennie of Santa Cruz Syndicate also put forth a good showing coming in 3rd and 6th respectively.  Read more...
